AGENDA FOR REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL AUGUST 23, 2023 7:00 PM COURT ROOM OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING At approximately 6:30 PM, the Mayor and Council will hold a work session in the Conference Room for the purpose of reviewing agenda items and signing bills. No official action will be taken during this time. Pledge of allegiance and moment of silence. 1. Call to order at 7:00 PM. 2. A resolution approving and dispensing with the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting of August 9, 2023. OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: 3. A resolution confirming the appointment of Angelina Cogley, Salamanca, NY, as part-time Dog Caretaker up to 20 hours per week at minimum wage, effective August 18, 2023 with the requirement of receiving the rabies pre-exposure vaccination. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 4. A resolution adopting Ordinance #2 for 2023 to amend the City Municipal Code designating no parking on the south side of Front Avenue from Sycamore Avenue to a point 210 feet westerly. Sponsor: Council Member Koch 5. A resolution approving a renewal agreement between the NYS Unified Court System and the City of Salamanca for the period commencing on April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024 (reimbursement for Court Security) and further authorizing the Mayor and the Police Chief to sign such agreement. Sponsor: Council Member Koch 6. A resolution accepting the resignation of Zachary Petrichko, Salamanca, NY as Full- time Police Sergeant and further appointing Mr. Petrichko as Part-time Police Officer effective August 1, 2023, in accordance with the current Union Contract. A resolution appointing William Hunt, Salamanca, NY as Full-time Permanent Police Sergeant, effective August 16, 2023, in accordance with the current Police Union Contract, with eight to twenty-six weeks probation. Sponsor: Council Member Koch 8. A resolution appointing Ronald Brown Jr., Salamanca, NY, as Full-time Police Dispatcher effective September 2, 2023, in accordance with the current Police Union Contract at a wage of $21.00 per hour, and further authorizing advertising for a Part- time Police Dispatcher. A resolution authorizing payment of the bills as warranted and recommended by the appropriate Commissions and/or Department Heads, the City Comptroller and City Clerk and accept reports. 14.
