AGENDA FOR REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OCTOBER 9, 2024 7:00 PM COURT ROOM OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING At approximately 6:30 PM, the Mayor and Council will hold a work session in the Conference Room for the purpose of reviewing agenda items and signing bills. No official action will be taken during this time. Pledge of allegiance and moment of silence. 1. Call to order at 7:00 PM. 2. A resolution approving and dispensing with the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting of September 25, 2024. OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: 3. A resolution confirming the appointment of Jessica Thessen, Salamanca, NY, as Part-time Account Clerk/Typist, for the Department of Public Works, up to 20 hours per week at $17.20 per hour, effective September 16, 2024. Sponsor: Council Member Hill 4. A resolution confirming the appointment of Courtney James, Salamanca, NY as Part-time Dog Caretaker up to 20 hours per week at time and a half of the minimum wage, or $22.50 per hour, effective October 4, 2024, with the requirement of getting the rabies vaccination. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 5. A resolution accepting the resignation of Samara Lindberg as Part-time Dog Caretaker effective October 20, 2024. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 6. A resolution confirming the appointment of Ransom Felt, Salamanca, NY, as Part- time Dog Caretaker up to 20 hours per week at minimum wage, effective October 7, 2024, with the requirement of getting the rabies vaccination. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 7. A resolution accepting the quote of Hunt Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors, Horseheads, NY, for the preparation of bids for the replacement of the City Municipal Building glass entry doors, in an amount not to exceed $22,500.00. This is to be paid for with NYS Department of Energy Grant funds. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 8. A resolution to waive the agenda rule to consider other items(s), if necessary. a. A resolution approving the annual renewal application to the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, for funds in the amount of $17,950.00 and further authorizing the Mayor to sign such application and related documents. b. A resolution approving the removal of Jared Talbot as Department of Public Works Parks Maintainer effective September 12, 2024, and appointing Jason Kosinski as Department of Public Works Parks Maintainer effective September 26, 2024, according to the current DPW Union Contract. 10. Communications from the Mayor and Council. 11. Reminder of other meetings – October 15th Fire at 6:30, October 21st Police at 6:00, October 22nd Youth Board at 4:30 and the next Regular Council will be October 23 at 7:00. 12. A resolution authorizing payment of the bills as warranted and recommended by the appropriate Commissions and/or Department Heads, the City Comptroller and City Clerk and accept reports. 13.
