ABSENT: Mayor Sandra Magiera
Clerk Tracy Chamberlain called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. After the Pledge
of Allegiance, Clerk Chamberlain asked for a moment of silence.
Moved by Smith and seconded by Myers:
RESOLVED: That we hereby approve and dispense with the reading of the
minutes of the last regular meeting of January 8, 2025.
Adopted Ayes: Hill, Johnson, Smith, Reed, Myers
Nays: None
AT THIS TIME THE ELECTION FOR COUNCIL PRESIDENT WAS HELD FOR 2025
Moved by Hill and seconded by Reed:
RESOLVED: That Kylee Johnson is hereby nominated for Council President for
the year 2025.
There were no other nominations.
Moved by Reed and seconded by Hill:
RESOLVED: That the nominations for Council President are hereby closed.
Adopted Ayes: Hill, Johnson, Smith, Reed, Myers
Nays: None
Moved by Hill and seconded by Myers:
RESOLVED: That one vote is hereby cast for Kylee Johnson as Council President
for 2025.

RESOLVED: That we hereby appoint Nicholas Jackson, Ronald Hoover, and
Cameron Davis as Department of Public Works Part-time Permanent Laborers, effective
January 9, 2025.

At approximately 6:30 PM, the Mayor and Council will hold a work session
for the purpose of reviewing agenda items and signing bills. No official action will
be taken during this time.
Pledge of allegiance and moment of silence.
1. Call to order at 7:00 PM.
2. A resolution approving and dispensing with the reading of the minutes of the last
regular meeting of January 8, 2025.

NEW BUSINESS:
3. Election of a Council President for the year 2025.
4. A resolution appointing Nicholas Jackson, Ronald Hooker, and Cameron Davies as
Department of Public Works Part-time Permanent Laborers, effective January 9,
2025. Sponsor: Council Member Hill
5. A resolution releasing Brittany Degroat as Department of Public Works Part-time
Seasonal Laborer effective January 9, 2025. Sponsor: Council Member Hill
6. A resolution appointing Haidon Moran as Full-time Firefighter, effective January 13,
2025, according to current union contract, with fifty-two weeks probation, contingent
on passing physical. Sponsor: Council Member Johnson
7. A resolution allowing the BPU’s Electric Department to borrow a shortfall amount
from the City for the purpose of paying outstanding accounts payable invoices of the
Electric Department and further authorizing the Mayor to sign an Intra-Municipal
Agreement with the BPU. Sponsor: Council Members Reed and Myers
8. A resolution approving the agreement with Chautauqua County Humane Society, Inc.
for services pertaining to dogs effective January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

9. A consideration of bids for the operation of the Ice Pond Concession.
10. Certain appointments by the Mayor and Common Council
11. A resolution to waive the agenda rule to consider other items(s), if necessary.
a. A resolution appointing Tyler Wass, Salamanca, NY and Maddox Pelton,
Salamanca, NY as Part-time Laborer for the Department of Public works effective
January 21, 2025.
b. A resolution appointing Ryan Grey, Little Valley, NY as Full-time Probationary
Police Sergeant, from the Cattaraugus County Civil Service list, effective February
1, 2025 in accordance with the current union contract, with up to 52 weeks
probation.

13. Reminder of other meetings – January 27th Special Council (Budget) at 9:00 AM,
January 28th Youth Board at 4:30, January 28th Special BPU at 6:00, January 29th
Neighborhood Watch at 6:30, January 30th Special Council (Budget) at 2:00 PM,
February 3rd Special Council (Budget) at 9:00 AM, February 4th Fire at 6:30,
February 5th IDA at 4:00, February 11th Library at 4:00, February 11th BPU at 6:00,
February 12th DPW at 6:00 and next Regular Council will be February 12th at 7:00.
14. A resolution authorizing payment of the bills as warranted and recommended by the
appropriate Commissions and/or Department Heads, the City Comptroller and City
Clerk and accept reports.

16. Motion to hold a work session and/or executive session, if necessary.
