City of Salem – Board of Assessors Meeting Minutes Thursday, April 8, 2021 A meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Via remote participation using ZOOM in accordance with Chapter 40A of the Massachusetts General Laws and Governor Baker’s Emergency Order dated March 12, 2020. Present on call were Richard Jagolta, Tina Zelano, Deborah Jackson, Stephen Cortes and James Bond. Meeting Called to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Robert Millerick recused himself in participating in the discussion regarding Abatements for 45 Traders Way and 40 First Street. At 6:12 p.m. Mr. Millerick joined the meeting via zoom participation. New Business The Board met with Mr. Michael Flynn, Tax Consultant, to discuss his FY 2021 Abatement Application. The Board discussed and voted to deny a Real Estate Exemption Request. The following request for Abatement of FY 2020 & 2021 Real Estate Tax were submitted to the Board under the provisions outlined in Chapter 59, Section 59, and were subsequently approved.
