Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds Minutes of the May 12, 2022 Meeting Present: William P. Goreham, Sumner Jones & Richard Lobsitz The meeting was called to order at 3:00 PM at the office of William P. Goreham, CPA. Six organizations joined the Board meeting to review their FY2023 Large Grant Proposals which included: The Samaritans, Life Bridge, Salem Pantry, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, Plummer Youth Promise and LEAP. After hearing the presentations, the Board discussed the proposals and Sumner Jones made a motion to approve the list below for distribution for FY23. The motion was seconded by Richard Lobsitz and voted unanimously which included Mayor Driscoll’s written approval. Approved List: North Shore Community Action Program Rent/Utilities/Counselling $15,000.00 Catholic Charities Basic Needs/Counselling $5,000.00 Salvation Army Rent/Utilities/Homeless $5,000.00 St. Vincent de Paul Society Rent $5,000.00 The Samaritans General/Fuel $5,000.00 Life Bridge Community Meals $4,000.00 Salem Pantry Mobile Meals Distribution $10,000.00 Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem Social/Emotional Support $10,000.00 Salem YMCA After School Program $10,000.00 Children’s Friend & Family Services Mental Health Support $5,000.00 Plummer Youth Promise Heath/Wellness/Trauma $5,000.00 LEAP Teen Center Program $10,000.00 Salem State University Darwin Festival $2,500.00 Brookhouse Home for Women Over-The-Counter Meds $7,000.00 Salem Philharmonic Orchestra Winter Concerts $5,500.00 North Shore Concert Band Willows Concerts $1,800.00 Page 2 of 2 May 12, 2022 Meeting Richard Lobsitz made a motion to accept the minutes of the April 14, 2022 meeting. The motion was seconded by Sumner Jones and voted unanimously. The Council on Aging submitted four moving requests between meetings that were urgent. The Board Members were notified and unanimously approved these requests. The funds used were; $975.00 from the Discretionary Fund & $3,150.00 from the Endicott Fund. The Clerk should receive a request from the Salem High School for Annual Awards shortly. The checks will be forwarded to the Guidance Department when the requests has been received. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:35PM. The next scheduled meeting is June 9, 2022. Respectfully submitted: F.
