Scholarship & Education Committee Meeting – Draft Minutes
Monday, December 13, 2021, 6:30 P.M., meeting held remotely
Members Present: Tyler Carlton, Gabriel Yeager, Lynne Mullen, Amy Stewart, Tayla Thompson,
Cynthia Nina-Soto, Andrew Boucher, Elizabeth McGovern
Staff Present: Dominick Pangallo
1. Call to Order: 6:32 p.m.
2. Approval of November 8, 2021 minutes: Approved unanimously.
3. Financial Updates: Education Fund: $20.00 in receipts in November for a current balance of
$5,921.17. Scholarship Fund: $69.94 in receipts in November for a current balance of $3,769.32
4. Old Business
a. Fundraising Updates: None.
5. New Business: Sam had asked if the meeting date could be changed as he will have a conflicting
class this coming semester, however no workable alternative date was identified so the committee
agreed to keep meeting at the usual time and to keep Sam in the loop between meetings so they
can provide feedback to Tyler and Dominick to share out with the committee. The Committee
requested the annual review of the Scholarship Application form and timetable be added to the
January meeting agenda. Cynthia suggested the committee consider setting some specific goals or
targets for fundraising in 2022 when they meet in January. Dominick will circulate some data on
the amount of funds raised each year over the last few years for both funds, to provide some
benchmarks from which the committee can work.

Committee will be conducted via remote participation to the greatest extent possible. Specific

If any public comment is permitted, members of the public who have “raised their hand” in
Zoom will be called on by the chair to offer comment. In order to raise a hand, member of the
public using the Zoom computer or phone application may click the “Raise Hand” button;
members of the public dialing in may press “*9” to raise their hand to speak.
No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be
made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via
technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite best efforts, we will post
on the city’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of
proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.
