Scholarship & Education Committee Meeting – Draft Minutes
Monday, August 1, 2022, 6:30 P.M., meeting held remotely
Members Present: Tyler Carlton (chair), Amy Stewart, Gabriel Yeager, Andrew Boucher, Lynne Mullen

1. Call to Order: 6:31 p.m.
2. Approval of June 13, 2022 minutes: Approved unanimously
3. Financial Updates:
Education Fund Scholarship Fund
June receipts: $0 June receipts: $162.10
July receipts: $126.00 July receipts: $127.06
August 1 balance: $7,842.83. August 1 balance: $6,757.45
4. Old Business
a. Fundraising Updates: The Committee discussed the Pride Festival fundraising effort and
agreed that while they only raised about as much as the table fee cost, it would be worth
doing again in the future with better signage and more to offer than just the raffle (i.e. sell
water, etc.). The ATG donation check has not been received.
b. 2023 Scholarship application form: The Committee reviewed the draft of the 2023
scholarship application form and approved modifications to the form unanimously. The
Committee also unanimously approved the application deadline of May 31, 2023. The
Committee asked that staff contact applicants who have submitted applications by May 29,
2023 to let them know they can edit their application information to add any new
scholarship or financial aid information received after they had originally submitted their
application.
c. Fall 2023 Education Fund grant round: The Committee unanimously approved setting
the next grant fund round deadline as October 7, 2022 so that award decisions might be
able to take place at the October meeting. Staff will issue the announcement about the
grant round on August 15, 2022. No changes were made to the application or language
regarding criteria and process.
d. Logo discussion: No discussion, will be added to September agenda.

If any public comment is permitted, members of the public who have “raised their hand” in

members of the public dialing in may press “*9” to raise their hand to speak.
No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be
made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via
technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite best efforts, we will post
on the city’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of
proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.
