Public comments generally are limited to two minutes per speaker; the Chair may further
limit the time for public comments depending on the agenda schedule.
GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENTS
Receive public communications from the audience on items that are not on the agenda
and that are in the City of Salinas’ subject matter jurisdiction. Comments on Consent or
Consideration items should be held until the items are reached. The public may request
that the committee consider adding an item for consideration on a future agenda. The
public may comment on scheduled agenda items as they are considered. In order to be
respectful of all speakers’ views and to avoid disruption of the meeting, the audience
shall refrain from applauding or jeering speakers who have been recognized by the Chair.
CONSENT
ID#19-200 Approval of minutes from the March 6, 2019 meeting
Recommendation: Approve the minutes.
CONSIDERATIONS
PUBLIC HEARINGS
ID#19-212 Variance 2018-002; A request to vary from the zoning code requirement
for street frontage landscaping and screening from the public view for an
existing agricultural processing facility located at 745 Airport Boulevard
in the Industrial-General- Airport overlay (IG-AR) zoning district.
Recommendation: Affirm the findings and adopt the attached Resolution approving Variance 2018-002
because the required findings for approval of a Variance pursuant to Zoning Code
Section 37-60.620 could be established.
ID#19-156 Zoning Code Amendment 2019-002
Recommendation: This item is continued to the April 17, 2019 Planning Commission Meeting
ID#19-176 Amend the Gateway Center Specific Plan related to Architectural Design,
Sign Standards, and Pedestrian Lighting Requirements (SPA 2019-001)
Recommendation: Adopt a Resolution recommending that the City Council adopt the proposed Specific
Plan Amendment related to Architectural Design, Sign Standards, and Pedestrian
Lighting Requirements.
