CONVENTION AND VISITOR BUREAU MEETING MINUTES 21 September, 2022 Convention and Visitor Bureau REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 21 September, 2022 The Convention and Visitor Bureau Advisory Board convened in a regular meeting on 21 September, 2022 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins Street in San Marcos, Texas. Chair Dan Alden called the Board Meeting to order at 11:58 a.m. Board Members in Attendance: Chair Dan Alden, Vice Chair Cody Taylor, Maxfield Baker, Linda Coker, Celena McGuill, July Moreno, Justin Mulloy, Allison Murphy, Vic Patel, Monte Sheffield, Aubrey Valdez, Rosina Valle, Kristin Williams. Ex-officio in Attendance: Jaime Lee Case and Josie Falleta. Guest in attendance: Laura Cardona Staff in Attendance: Rebecca Ybarra, Charlotte Wattigny and Denise Pardo 1. CITIZEN COMMENT PERIOD: None 2. GUEST SPEAKERS: Jennifer Rogers and JD Moore, Greater San Marcos Partnership 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes from meeting of July 20, 2022 were approved on Board Member Maxfield Baker motion, Board Member Kristin Williams second on an unanimous vote. 4. REVIEW AND ACCEPT FINANCIAL REPORT THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2022 Ybarra reported cost savings in other accounts allowed for advertising and trade show expenses to go over budget. Expenses through September represents 94.84% of the budget year. The financial report through September 2022 were approved on Board Member Maxfield Baker motion, Board Member Monte Sheffield second on a unanimous vote. 5. PROPOSED 2023 BUDGET Ybarra reported an additional $100k was granted for advertising. 6. DIRECTOR REPORT Ybarra reported the occupancy for July and August were flat compared to 2021 occupancy. Sales tax revenue actual reporting month of July was up 4.5% compared to 2021. 7. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None 8.
