MINUTES Sand Springs City Council Special Meeting August 19, 2013 - 6:30 p.m. Sand Springs Municipal Building 100 East Broadway- Room 203 Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mike Burdge Vice Mayor Michael Phillips Councilman Dean Nichols Councilman Jesse Honn Councilman Brian M. Jackson Councilman Harold G. Neal Councilman James D. Rankin ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Rocky Rogers City Attorney David Weatherford City Clerk Janice L. Almy ABSENT: None The Sand Springs City Council met in special session on August 19, 2013 in Room #203 of the Sand Springs Municipal Building pursuant to the agenda filed with the City Clerk's office and posted at 2:45 p.m. on August 15, 2013, on the bulletin board located in the first floor lobby of the Sand Springs Municipal Building, 100 East Broadway, Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063. 1. Call to Order Mayor Burdge called the meeting to order at the noted time of 6:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call Mayor Burdge called for an individual roll call with members replying in the following manner: Councilman Nichols, here; Councilman Honn, here; Councilman Phillips, here; Vice Mayor Neal, here; Mayor Burdge, here; Councilman Jackson, here; Councilman Rankin, here.  CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 19, 2013 PAGE 2 3. Sand Springs Entrepreneurial Program A) City Manager Rocky D. Rogers provided an overview of the Sand Springs Entrepreneurial Initiative. An "Entrepreneurial Overview" handout was also provided to City Council. B) Sean Griffin, CEO of the Startup Cup, provided a presentation of the Sand Springs Entrepreneurial Village Vision. C) Questions and answers session was provided regarding the Sand Springs Entrepreneurial program, as follows: Councilman Phillips inquired as to if the entrepreneur would begin in the combined location and then relocate to another location within Sand Springs. Sean Griffin stated that the entrepreneurs would be required to sign a one-year lease. Councilman Phillips inquired as to whether micro-lending would be a component of the program. Sean Griffin stated that Startup Cup is looking in to various lending components. Councilman Phillips stated that the entrepreneurial program tie in with the City's other initiatives. D) In regards to the "next step for the Sand Springs Entrepreneurial program", consensus of Council was to consider moving forward for a one (1) year plan. 4.
