MINUTES Sand Springs City Council Special Meeting June 24, 2014 - 6:00 p.m. Sand Springs Public Works Building 109 North Garfield Avenue - Conference Room Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mike Burdge @ 6:22 pm Vice Mayor Brian M. Jackson Councilman Michael Phillips Councilman Dean Nichols Councilman Harold G. Neal Councilman James D. Rankin Councilman John Fothergill ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director Kim Booth City Attorney David Weatherford The Sand Springs City Council met in special session on June 24, 2014 in the Conference Room of the Sand Springs Public Works Building pursuant to the agenda filed with the City Clerk's office and posted at 10:32 a.m. on June 18, 2014, on the digital display board located in the first floor lobby of the Sand Springs Municipal Building, 100 East Broadway, Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063. 1. Call to Order Vice Mayor Jackson called the meeting to order at the noted time of 6:15 pm. 2. Roll Call Vice Mayor Jackson called for a roll call with members replying in the following manner: Councilman Nichols, here; Councilman Phillips, here; Vice Mayor Jackson, here; Councilman Rankin, here; Councilman Neal, here; Councilman Fothergill, here; Mayor Burdge, no response. It was noted that Mayor Burdge was not present at the time of roll call. 4. Executive Session A) Vice Mayor Jackson informed Council of the request to retire into Executive Session for the purpose of conferring on matters pertaining to individuals to be  CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 24, 2014 PAGE 2 considered for employment as City Manager in accordance with O.S. Title 25, Section 307{B)(1). A motion was made by Councilman Phillips and seconded by Councilman Fothergill to retire into Executive Session for the purpose of conferring on matters pertaining to individuals to be considered for employment as City Manager in accordance with O.S. Title 25, Section 307(B)(1). Vice Mayor Jackson called for the vote recorded as follows: Councilman Nichols, aye; Councilman Phillips, aye; Vice Mayor Jackson, aye; Councilman Fothergill, aye; Councilman Neal, aye; and Councilman Rankin, aye. The motion carried 6-0-0. Vice Mayor Jackson, Councilman Nichols, Councilman Phillips, Councilman Rankin, Councilman Fothergill, Councilman Neal, Human Resources Director Kim Booth and City Attorney David Weatherford retired into Executive Session at the noted time of 6:16 pm; at 6:22 pm, Mayor Burdge joined the Executive Session. Council and Administrative staff met with individual applicants and held discussion for the purpose of conferring on matters pertaining to individuals to be considered for employment as City Manager in accordance with O.S. Title 25, Section 307(B)(1). B) Following the Executive Session, a motion was made by Councilman Fothergill and seconded by Vice Mayor Jackson to return to the City Council meeting. Mayor Burdge called for the vote recorded as follows: Councilman Rankin, aye; Vice Mayor Jackson, aye; Mayor Burdge, aye; Councilman Neal, aye; Councilman Phillips, aye; Councilman Nichols, aye; Councilman Fothergill, aye. The motion carried 7-0-0. Council returned to the City Council meeting at the noted time of 8:44 pm. C) No action was taken as a result of the Executive Session. 5.
