Department Heads will have an oppotunity to discuss concerns and/or ask questions of the City Council. a. Communications Director Nicole Martin led a discussion on Navitus. b. Economic Development Director Nick Duerksen presented an update on the CDA extension, Gardner Project, project Sage, and project Scarlet. c. Parks and Recreation Director Scott Earl discussed the property acquisition for the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, update on the Hale Centre Theater Plaza, Main Street Park upgrades, recreation programs, staffing seasonal employees, and concerns pertaining to the Alta Canyon Sport Center. d. Community Development Director Mike Coulam updated the Council on the pace of permits, whether Sandy is nearing build-out, future projects, and accessory apartments. e. Deputy Police Chief Bill O'Neal discussed the department's crime lab, the capability and its relation to other agencies. f. Fire Chief Bruce Cline discussed the Fire Department's completion of ISO review, upgrades to the training tower, wild land truck, equipment needs, new fire recruits, Fire Marshall office, total calls, Metro Fire agency, and multiple fire incidents. g. Shane Pace discussed water rights. Scott Cowdell made a motion, seconded by Steve Fairbanks to adjourn the meeting and convene into a closed session to discuss the character, professional competency, or physical or mental health of an individual. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:15 p.m. by Scott Cowdell. The next scheduled meeting of the City Council is Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. 2. Possible Closed Session: character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual.
