Items not concluded during the Work Session will occur in the regular Council Meeting at the conclusion of other official business. Consent Calendar items have been previously considered or are otherwise routine in nature and will be considered in a single motion unless a Council Member wishes to discuss an item separately. For assistance, please call (801) 568-7141. 4:30 Dinner 5:15 Work Session Agenda Planning Calendar Review Chris McCandless noted on the upcoming events in the city calendar in the packet each week. Council Member Business Scott Cowdell commented on the structure of his water bill and asked for an explanations. Mr. Cowdell also commended that the Council hire contractors to complete the council office project and take funds from contingency. Stephen Smith also agreed with Mr. Cowdell. Stephen Smith commented on the end of year budget report. He congratulated Departments on the savings this year. He would like opotions. Council Office Director's Report No Report was given. CAO Report Chief Cline updated the Council on the fire in Dimple Dell Park and the July 24th related Fireworks. Council discussion followed. Scott Cowdell addressed a street vacation and why it was removed from the agenda. Council discussion followed. Scott Bond reported on the grand opening of HCT in October. A sneak preview will take place in September. He asked the Council to notify the Mayor's office with names and addresses of two other guests they would like to invite. Information Items 1. 17-195 Presentation from Envision Utah on planning principles. Attachments: QCA HANDOUT 1.0.2 Ryan Beck, Senior Planner, Envisions Utah, presented an update their vision on Wasatch Choice Vision. 2. 17-196 Sandy City Fire Department recommends the City Council adopt Ordinance #17-20 for Inspection Records and #17-21 for Wildland Urban Inteface Areas. Cheif Cline complimented robert dekorver for his role as the Fire Marshall to the City. 3. 16-340 Administration updating the City Council on the recodification of City code. He noted that this is in rough draft form. A polished version will be brought back to the council for review. Council questions followed. 5. 17-199 City Attorney reporting on Mountain Accord litigation and audit status. Rob wall recommended closing the meeting to a closed session. The Council voted to keep it at a general discussion and not close the meeting. Josh Chandler presented an overview on the litigation and audit status. Council questions followed. Citizen Comments Steve Van Maren 11039 Lexington Circle, commented on the content of the two ordinances regarding fire and the use of comment cards. Karen Wyatt, 443 West Oak Green Way, expressed concern over occurring water main breaks in their area retention pond maintenance which create havoc in their neighborhood. Chris asked staff to do research and place back on the agenda with a report. Phillip Solomon 755 West Oak Green Drive, water and power director in St. george, clarified felt that a pressure reducing value needs to be installed to reduce the amount of water breaks, Need a prv on the system itself. Gary Forbush 983 Eas Addington Circle. suggested having residents sing national anthum at the amphitheater which would add a nice touch. asked a question on representation at a neighborhood meeting .
