James Sorensen offered the opening prayer. Scott Earl led the audience in the pledge. James Sorensen offered the opening prayer. Scott Earl led the audience in the pledge. Non-voting Items Agenda Planning Calendar Review & Council Office Director's Report Chris McCandless excused Mike Applegarth from the meeting. Dustin Fratto reviewed upcoming items on the agenda calendar. Council Member Business Brooke Christensen presented a water incident update. Steve Fairbanks asked the City Attorney for further clarification on the ordinance related to electric scooter on sidewalks in light of Lime Scooter coming to Sandy. Linda Saville expressed appreciation to Chris Edwards for helping organize Council for the 4th of July parade. Former City Council Member Bryant Anderson passed away. She asked to have the sign ordinance bought back to address campaign signs on fences and personal property. James Sorensen explained the current ordinance. The code has been in place and has not changed since 2008. Code states that it does not allow signs on fencing; public or private. Linda Saville expressed appreciation to Parks and Recreation for their service at the 4th of July parade. Chris McCandless introduced Hannah Barton, Constituent Liaison for Congressman Ben McAdams' Office and invited her to meet with the Mayor, Matt, Council Members and Staff. Mayor's Report No Report. CAO Report Matt Huish echoed appreciation to the Park's Department for their efforts with the 4th of July Parade. The Administration submitted an application for a course of TEMA training May 4th-7th. The Administration continues to meet with Rocky Mountain Power to discuss ways to decrease carbon footprint and alternative power sources. Scott Earl updated the Council on the canal trail near Enchanted Cove. He believes Kathy Stark, who brought this to the attention during public comments, will be happy with it. Bob Thompson along with City Prosecutor Doug Johnson gave an update on an appeal to the 10th Circuit Court that prevailed in a split decision. Chris McCandless requested the adoption of a resolution in memoriam of former Council Member Bryant Anderson for next week's meeting. Citizen Comments No Comments. Information Items 1. 19-221 Administration providing a recap of the Fourth of July festivities. Scott Earl presented a briefing on the 4th of July parade and events. 2. 19-222 Public Works providing an update on the new building. Mike Gladbach provided an update with pictures on the new Public Works building. An open house will be held on Friday, July 19th, at 9:30 a.m. 6:00 Time Certain Items Adjournment The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:10 p.m. by Steve Fairbanks .
