(Presenter: Julia Montany, Director of Immigrant & Refugee Services, Las Cumbres – julia.montany@lccs-nm.org) Julia Montany shared an overview of services including therapeutic support for U-Visa holders and navigation support. The committee also met Laura, Health & Wellness Coordinator at Las Cumbres. Policy Recommendations on Immigrant Protection and Workplace Safety / Recomendaciones de Política sobre Protección a Inmigrantes y Seguridad Laboral The committee reviewed five policy proposals submitted by the Policy Subcommittee in collaboration with Somos Un Pueblo Unido, Adelante, Contigo Immigrant Justice, and the Santa Fe Police Department’s Office: 1. Prohibit use of City property for civil immigration enforcement staging or processing. 2. Require standardized signage distinguishing public and non-public areas. 3. Mandate 24-hour notice for I-9 audits or other enforcement actions. 4. Create an Immigrant Family Economic Relief Fund. 5. Establish departmental ICE activity reporting protocols. Committee members expressed support and raised additional points for consideration: • ICE activity near former K-Mart and the need for local-federal coordination. • Jurisdictional concerns near annexed areas like Airport Road and Tierra Contenta. • Proposal to coordinate with Santa Fe County and engage their Sheriff’s Office. • Budget timing and implementation logistics. El comité revisó cinco propuestas de política presentadas por el Subcomité de Políticas en colaboración con Somos Un Pueblo Unido, Adelante, Contigo Immigrant Justice y el Departamento de Policía de Santa Fe: 1. Prohibir el uso de propiedades municipales para operativos migratorios civiles. 2. Señalización estandarizada de áreas públicas y no públicas. 3. Notificación obligatoria de 24 horas para auditorías I-9 u otras acciones. 4. Crear un Fondo de Alivio Económico para Familias Inmigrantes. 5. Establecer protocolos de reporte de actividad de ICE entre departamentos. Miembros del comité compartieron inquietudes y sugerencias: • Actividad de ICE cerca del antiguo K-Mart y falta de comunicación. • Preocupaciones jurisdiccionales en zonas como Airport Road y Tierra Contenta.  • Propuesta de colaboración con el Condado de Santa Fe. • Consideraciones sobre presupuesto e implementación. 8. Committee Membership Update / Actualización sobre la Membresía del Comité Introduction of Dr. Laura López Jauregui as a new member representing La Familia Medical Center. Presentación de la Dra. Laura López Jauregui como nueva integrante del comité en representación de La Familia Medical Center. Dr. Laura introduced herself and shared her experience as an immigrant and her professional background in dentistry. She spoke about her education at Tufts University and her current role serving immigrant patients. The committee welcomed her. La Dra. Laura se presentó y compartió su experiencia como inmigrante y su trayectoria profesional en odontología. Habló sobre su educación en la Universidad de Tufts y su rol actual atendiendo a pacientes inmigrantes. El comité le dio una cálida bienvenida. b. Announcement from Father Lee / Anuncio del Padre Lee Father Lee shared that he will be relocating to El Paso, Texas. He will inform the committee about any changes in his participation. Subcommittee Updates / Actualizaciones de los Subcomités Committee members reported: • A recent visit from the Guatemalan Consulate in Albuquerque to notarize documents. • Commissioner Justin Green expressed interest in supporting immigrant initiatives.  • Chainbreaker Collective’s Posolada event was promoted. • Questions raised about support for students in Santa Fe Public Schools. • Announcement of new pediatric dental services at La Familia.
