1. Call to Order
A regular meeting of the Santa Fe MPO Transportation Policy Board was called to order by Alma
Castro at 5:06Pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 737 Agua Fria Street, Santa Fe, NM.

Details
Maggie: Presented Santa Fe Forward initiative, focusing on 20-25 year vision
Heather: Emphasized implementation importance and collaboration with county
Timeline includes three-year work plan with public engagement throughout
Community Engagement Strategy
Details
23 community partner organizations selected from 33 applications
Technical working group of 15 members established
Public engagement includes open houses, community conversations, and event tabling
Website santafeforward.org launched for public input
2,791 pieces of engagement received in initial rollout
Housing and Development
Details
67% of housing is single-family homes
Economically vulnerable residents moving out of area
Aging population trend identified
Need for housing density and affordability solutions
Heather: Emphasized need for infill development and housing diversity
Transportation
Details
High number of pedestrian and bicycle crashes reported
Bus service needs system-wide update
81% of residents live within 10-minute walk of park
170+ miles of trails available
Discussion of parking requirements vs. walkability goals
Challenges
Balancing community desires for parking with walkability goals
Implementing changes to engineering standards to support walkability

B. Plan and Project Updates: 2025 MTP, Public Participation Plan, 2019 Bicycle Master
Plan Update: Safer Bicycle Facilities, Cerrillos Rd/2nd St. Bus Stop (MPO Staff)
o City Transit: Move bus stop to fire station property location
o County Update: Install pedestrian signage between jail and town
o Collect public comments on assessment report (Deadline: July 20th)
o Host virtual public meeting (July 20th, 3-4 PM)
o Host in-person public meeting (July 24th, 5-7 PM)
o Present findings to planning commission and governing body (Fall 2023)
o Table at Pride event and other community gatherings
o Conduct community outreach through social media channels
• Leah: Presented updates including administrative process changes for MTP
• Modified TIP development process clarification
• Added administrative update process to Public Participation Plan for content changes
• 45-day public review period required
• Review period to run from Friday through August 11th
