1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chair Bonos at 3:33PM.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: 7 - Chair Nina Bonos, Vice Chair Lisa Puentes, Committee Member
Katherine Anderson, Committee Member Monica Bryant, Committee
Member Melanie Jones-Carter, Committee Member Kristin Kiefer,
and Committee Member Michelle Edwards
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes from the October 17, 2018 Special Meeting.
Item approved as submitted.
5. SCHEDULED ITEMS
5.1 2019-20 Annual Work Plan
Staff will present a draft 2019-2020 Annual Work Plan.
Recommended Action: Approval of 2019-2020 Annual Work Plan
Arts Coordinator Tara Thompson reviewed the draft of the annual
work plan for the July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020 fiscal year. The work
plan identifies new projects that the committee will be undertaking,
conservation and maintenance for the public art collection,
programming, and also identifies projects that are in progress. The
plan outlines the specific Public Art expenditures from the Public Art
Fund and their allocation.
A motion was made by Committee Member Anderson, seconded by
Committee Member Bryant, that this Art in Public Places Agenda Item be
approved. The motion carried by an unanimous vote.

5.2 Project Updates
Staff will present updates on current projects.
Recommended Action: Information Only
Coffey Park Public Art Project - January 26th was the third and final
neighborhood meeting for the master plan. Working with the park
design team, staff presented the status of the public art component.
Rotary groups will be donating a combined $60,000 towards the
public art project. Rotary District 5130 is donating $50,000, and
Santa Rosa West Rotary Club is donating $10,000. Due to these
generous donations, the project budget is now $110,000. Staff
revised the Call for Artists and extended the deadline to February
28.
Parking Garage Art Project - Staff met with Kim Nadeau, Parking
Manager, and determined that the project will be sited at Garage 3,
located at 735 5th Street.
Fire Response - Web of Dreams Project at Santa Rosa High School
was installed and will be up through mid-March.
Meter Made - Staff is working with the artist and his team to address
the issue of the LED lights not remaining lit.
Zag - The artist provided an update in January that his electrical
engineer was waiting on parts. There have been no further updates.
City electricians have confirmed the location and availability of
electricity for the project.

Bryant: SF MOMA Chinese exhibit, Art from the Heart at Sonoma
State
Anderson: Fire Response - The Land and Me, Gauguin exhibit at the
de Young
6.3 Upcoming Events
Bryant: Sonoma State University Gallery alumni exhibit opening
Valentine’s Day.
Thompson: Second part of the Fire Response - The Land and Me,
is Saturday, February 9th at the Finley Center from 1:30 - 4:00PM.
Third and final performance will be on March 2nd at the DeTurk
Round Barn from 4:00 - 6:00PM.
7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS
Staff is working on getting name badges for the Committee
members.
8. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Bonos adjourned the meeting at 4:51pm. The next regular
meeting of the Art in Public Places Committee is March 4, 2019, at
3:30pm at City Hall, Mayor Conference Room.
