5.1 REPORT - Fiscal Year 2018/2019 Transportation and Public Works
Work Plan
BACKGROUND: Each year Transportation and Public Works staff
presents a proposed work plan for the Board to review. Based on the
feedback from the Board during your September 2017 meeting, we are
presenting the projects proposed to be worked on in Fiscal Year
2018/19.
RECOMMENDATION: The Board may, by motion, recommend the work
plan project list for FY 2018/19.
PUBLIC COMMENTS

RECOMMENDATION
:The Board, by motion, recommended the work plan project list for FY
2018/19 with the addition of Roseland area projects.
5.2 REPORT - Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update 2018 - BPAB’s
Role
BACKGROUND: On September 21, 2017, staff provided an update on
the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update 2018 to the Bicycle and
Pedestrian Advisory Board (BPAB). Staff is in the process of finalizing
the negotiations with the Consultant related to the scope of work and
cost estimate.
RECOMMENDATION: This item is for Board discussion. No action is
required.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Minona Heaviland asked where creeks and trails fit into the plan,
opportunities for public involvement, and timeline for completion.
Duane DeWitt suggested taking a different approach in identifying
stakeholders and exploring outreach opportunities.
RECOMMENDATION
This item is for Board discussion. No action is required.
6. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA MATTERS
Duane DeWitt spoke about Roseland Creek Park as a nature
preserve and advocating for a bike path connecting west to east.
Minona Heaviland asked about the funding and timing for the
Franklin Avenue pathway.
7. CHAIR/BOARD MEMBERS' ANNOUNCEMENTS
Boardmember Brown spoke about the challenges and successes of
the City's ADA compliance process, and stated all findings have
been resolved. He also discussed the yearly priority list of
improvements.
Boardmembers continue to distribute the informational BPAP flyers.
Outreach efforts continue.

8. STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS
Website transition from Transit to Traffic Engineering has been
completed.
Funding has been secured from the air district for Class II bike
lanes.
Paving has been completed for the road diet project on West Third
Street, and repaving has been completed on Mendocino Avenue
and the bike lanes will be repainted soon.
The County's quiet zones for the SMART train will be implemented
shortly.
9. ADJOURNMENT OF REGULAR MEETING
Meeting adjourned at 6:05 pm.
