TO THE COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD (CAB)
Each member of the Council makes two appointments to the
14-member Community Advisory Board: one at-large appointment and
one appointment from one of seven geographic areas of the City. At
this time, Council Members Coursey, Sawyer, and Schwedhelm will
draw lots to determine the geographic area from which they will make

their respective appointment to the Community Advisory Board.

12. REPORT ITEMS
12.1 REPORT - RETENTION OF $1,000,000 BY THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA TO USE FOR
AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT.
BACKGROUND: On April 29, 2014, via Resolution No. 28470, the City
Council agreed to provide $1,000,000 to the Housing Authority as a local
match for a Local Housing Trust Fund application. The Housing
Authority’s application was unsuccessful and is requesting that the
Council allow the Authority to retain the funds to advance one of four
existing entitled affordable housing projects in competing for low income
housing credits.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by the Department of
Economic Development and Housing that the Council, by resolution,
permanently award $1,000,000 to the Housing Authority as previously
approved in Resolution No. 28470 for use in advancing one of four
existing entitled affordable housing projects in competing for low income
housing credits.
