NEW BUSINESS 3.1 AMENDED AND RESTATED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CALGON CARBON, LLC FOR ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT DISINFECTION SYSTEM EQUIPMENT Ultraviolet Light (UV) is the primary disinfection process for the Laguna Treatment Plant (LTP). In January 2016, the City initiated design for replacing the existing UV system. The City released a Request for Proposals for preselection of the UV Equipment, and selected Calgon Carbon of Corapolis, PA. The City subsequently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Calgon Carbon to establish the technical terms, an equipment price of $4,656,500, and to guarantee this equipment price for 18 months. The City also executed a $70,000 Professional Services Agreement (PSA) for Calgon Carbon to provide shop drawings and design support services for the project. The initial term for purchase to avoid price escalation of the original MOU expired May 2018. This Amended and Restated MOU and PSA City of Santa Rosa Special Meeting Notice and Agenda Page 3 of 3 Contract Review Subcommittee JULY 28, 2020 performs the same functions as the prior contracts but establishes a new equipment price of $5,634,700 and PSA fee of $86,000.
