CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Michael Lenz called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
July 4 B Dogs in Congress Park
Commissioner Thomas McTygue said that he was seeking for Council support to prohibit dogs in Congress
Park on July 4. He said last year there were some safety issues, therefore, the Safety Committee reviewed
and discussed this matter in depth. He said that because of the amount of people in the park on that day, the
Safety Committee was recommending to prohibit dogs on July 4.
Commissioner Thomas Curley asked for specific times. It was agreed there would be no dogs allowed in the
park from noon to midnight on July 4.
Commissioner Thomas McTygue said signs would be posted by his department making visitors aware that no
dogs would be allowed on that day.

Tony Izzo said that the Council has the authority to accept this recommendation and no motion was necessary.
He said that it is covered in Chapter 178 of the City’s Ordinance.
Yellow Ribbons
Commissioner Thomas McTygue said that there had been a suggestion from Broadway Banner that rather
than hanging yellow ribbons around the City, that banners be hung showing support for the troops. He then
showed the possible colors of the banners. There was a suggestion that perhaps the banners could be
staggered along Broadway using red, white and blue. Commissioner Thomas McTygue said he would work
on this matter.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Thomas McTygue moved and Commissioner Stephen Towne seconded to adjourned the
meeting at 6:10 p.m. Ayes all.
There being no further business, Mayor Michael Lenz adjourned the meeting at 6:10 p.m.
