CALL TO ORDER Commissioner Madigan called the meeting to order at 1:07 p.m. BUDGET WORKSHOP Department of Public Works Commissioner Madigan advised the total budget for the Department of Public works is $10,627,000 – a .7% increase over the 2016 budget. This is mostly due to personnel. There is an increase to expenses of $45,000 for equipment. Commissioner Scirocco stated he had nothing to discuss at this time. He commended Commissioner Madigan and Deputy Commissioner Bachner for a good budget. They can live with this budget. Page 2 of 3 Budget Workshop 10/12/16 Recreation Department Commissioner Madigan advised the Recreation Department’s total budget is $2.4 million. This is a 2.6% increase over 2016 which is almost all wages and benefits. John Hirliman thanked Commissioner Madigan for the budget presented. All requests were addressed. th Commissioner Madigan advised the first public hearing will be held at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18 . th The next budget workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 1 p.m. and will cover the Mayor’s Department and the Department of Public Safety. PUBLIC COMENT Commissioner Madigan opened the public comment period at 1:12 p.m. Tom Coons, owner of the Saratoga Revolution Baseball team, a collegiate team, was here to say they are trying to find a spot in Saratoga Springs to play games.
