September 4, 2018 ***VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES*** September 4, 2018 SAUKVILLE MUNICIPAL CENTER 639 E Green Bay Ave SAUKVILLE, WISCONSIN Village President Barb Dickmann called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Village Clerk Mary Kay Baumann gave the Statement of Public Notice. Members: Barb Dickmann-present, David Maglio-present, Joe Caban-absent, Richard Belling- present, Scott Fischer-present, Trevor Seitz-present, and Jim Nowlen-present. Others Present: Dawn Wagner, Mary Kay Baumann, Chief Meyer, Ray deBruijn, Sara deBruijn, and Dan Benson-Ozaukee Press. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE CITIZEN COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS None. APPROVE MINUTES OF AUGUST 21, 2018 MEETING Nowlen/Fischer made a motion to approve the August 21, 2018 minutes as presented. Motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS REPORT FROM THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT Dickmann expressed thanks to the staff for their excellent work during the recent flooding. REPORT FROM THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR Wagner thanked staff as well for all their work during the recent flooding. ORDINANCES – RESOLUTIONS – PETITIONS None. REPORTS OF VILLAGE BOARD COMMITTEES Utility Committee No report. Public Works Committee No report. Public Safety Committee No report. Finance Committee Dickmann reported on the meeting of September 4, 2018. September 4, 2018 A recommendation was made to the Village Board to approve changes to the Personnel Manual Section 3.09 (QQ) – Emergency Management Director Position Description and Amending Section 8.10 Bereavement Leave. Fischer/Nowlen made a motion to approve the Personnel Manual Section 3.09 (QQ) – Emergency Management Director Position Description and Amending Section 8.10 Bereavement Leave. Motion carried. A recommendation was made to the Village Board to approve Sara deBruijn as the new Village of Saukville Emergency Management Director. Maglio/Seitz made a motion to approve Sara deBruijn as the new Village of Saukville Emergency Management Director. Motion carried. Other Matters: Mid-Moraine will be hosting a dinner at NoNo’s in Newburg on Wednesday, September 26th. If anyone is interested in attending please contact Mary Kay. The Saukville Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Lunch & Learn opportunity to be held at the Saukville Humane Society on Wednesday, September 26th. Please contact Mary Kay if you are interested in attending. Character Counts will be recognizing those in the community that “Serve & Protect” at the Port High Football game on Friday, September 14th if anyone is interested in attending. The Car Show scheduled for this Sunday, September 9th will not be held at Grady Park due to field conditions. An alternate location is being worked on. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES Plan Commission Dickmann reported on the meeting of September 4, 2018. Minutes from the July 24, 2018 meeting were reviewed and approved. A Certificate of Compliance for StarrFitness located at 142 S. Foster Drive was reviewed and approved. A request for signage for StarrFitness located at 142 S. Foster Drive was reviewed and approved. A Certificate of Compliance for D’Klein located at 301-305 E. Green Bay Avenue was reviewed and approved. Other Matters: Burger King is making progress and scheduled to open the middle of October. We are looking for a tenant for the vacated gas station on E. Green Bay Ave. There is a possible pizza delivery business going into the old bank building on E. Dekora St. September 4, 2018 Community Development Authority/Industrial Review Committee No report. Library Board No report. Mid-Moraine Municipal Association No report. OPERATOR’S LICENSE APPROVALS Maglio/Nowlen made a motion to approve the Operator’s License Application for Evans and Bork for Beck’s Green Bay Ave Mart, Clark for Rally Time Sports Bar, Kloss for Walgreens, Evanoff for Wal-Mart, and Schuessler for Tri-Par. Motion carried. LIQUOR LICENSE APPROVALS None. CITIZEN MATTERS AS NOTICED None. ADJOURNMENT Fischer/Belling made a motion to adjourn.
