Summary/Final Minutes – Work Session – July 7, 2016 Savannah City Government SUMMARY/FINAL MINUTES COUNCIL WORK SESSION& CITY MANAGER’S BRIEFING July 7, 2016 – 10:00 a.m. PRESENT: Mayor Eddie W. DeLoach, Presiding Mayor Pro-Tem Carol Bell Alderman Julian Miller, Chairman of Council Alderman Brian Foster, Vice-Chairman of Council Aldermen John Hall, Bill Durrence, Tony Thomas, Estella Shabazz (arrived at 10:25 a.m.), Van Johnson, II (arrived at 10:30 a.m.) City Manager Stephanie Cutter City Attorney W. Brooks Stillwell Assistant City Attorney William Shearouse Mayor DeLoach called the meeting to order. (1) Chief Lumpkin presented a detailed SCMPD Update Michael Owens, presented information on the tourism (2) An update of the Traffic Calming Policy was presented by Mike Weiner, Traffic Engineer and Virginia Mobley spoke as a member of the Traffic Calming Committee (3) A Financial Update on Utilities was presented by David Maxwell, CFO with a request to present to Council the present collected and uncollected amounts. The Financial Update will continue at the next work session. (4) Upon motion of Alderman Hall, seconded by Alderman Miller, and unanimously carried Council went into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing Litigation. Council came out of Executive Session upon motion of Alderman Durrence, seconded by Alderman Shabazz and unanimously carried. (5) Council recessed for Lunch (6) Alderman Johnson presented a report on the City Manager Search Committee. (7) City Manager Stephanie Cutter presented the City Manager’s Briefing of the agenda items for the Council Meeting of January 7, 2016. (8) Except for the Executive Session copies of all presentations are attached and made a part of the permanent record of this meeting. Mayor DeLoach adjourned this meeting. Dyanne C.
