D&L Tree Service, who was awarded the contract on January 26, has been unable to secure a performance bond for the contract. The awarding of a new contract is time sensitive for the listed reasons: I . The time period contractors must honor their pricing is expiring 2. The contractor needs to be ready to go as soon as weather, A new resolution will be introduced %I Monday night's Committee Meeting and needs lo be acted upon at a special Council Meeting an the same night. Councilmember offered the following: A Resolution to the Award the Bid and Contract for the ''Golf Course Tree Removal" to Wickes Arborists. WHEREAS, the City of Schenectady, as a part of its master plan of improvements for the Municipal Golf Course, needs to provide for the removal of select trees, stumps and brush; and WHEREAS, the Engineering Department solicited bids for "Golf Course Tree Removal" and the lowest responsible bid was received from Wickes Arborist, of Spring Valley, NY in the amount of $98,420: NOW, BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that this Council, Acting as a Board of Contract and supply under Section C5-9 of the City Charter confirms and ratifies issuance of a contract with Wickes Arborists; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Gary R. McCarthy, or his designee is authorized to enter into a contract for the "Golf Course Tree Removal" with Wickes Arborist, the terms and conditions of which shall be set by the Corporation Counsel.
