The grant application was prepared by the Capital District Urban Area Working Group (UA WG) which represents Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Cities and Counties. The City of Schenectady Police Department is the recipient of a portion ofthe grant in the amount of $130,000. The funds are to be used for the purchase of additional pole mounted license plate readers ($110,000) and portable police radios ($20,000). The funding period is 91112015 through 8/31/2017. There is no match required by the City. Recommendation/Action The Police Department recommends acceptance of this Homeland Security grant award. These funds are distributed through the Schenectady County STOP-DWI Steering Committee. Funding has been allocated in the amount of $24,359.59 for the City of Schenectady Police Department. These funds are to be used for Patrol enforcement and equipment. There is no match requirement for this grant This agreement shall be effective from January 1st, 2015 through December 31st, 2015.
