CALL TO ORDER: The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee meeting was called to order at 9:00
a.m.
ROLL CALL: Present: Judy Beste, Teresa Cicrich-Powell, Vicki Lockwood, Delores Parks, Wayne
Morgan, Veena Mehta. Also present: Youlanda Givens
ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF: Linda Croasdill, Recreation Program Supervisor; Amy Oliverson,
Recreation Program Specialist
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes dated February 17, 2026, were approved as presented.
SEATAC CAFÉ UPDATE: The St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon was a success, with 130 attendees. Puget
Sound Fire sent a large crew to help serve and is donating $400 to the Senior Program Fund.
The next special event will be the Ethiopian meal and coffee ceremony on April 14, presented by Serve
Ethiopians Washington. Preregistration is requested so that SEW will know how much food to prepare.
MONEY MANAGEMENT UPDATE: The SeaTac Senior Program Fund statements for November
2025, December 2025, and January 2026 were reviewed. Linda reached out to the Renton Foundation
regarding the bank fees but has not received an answer.
PURCHASES: Name tag supplies have not yet been purchased.
NEW BUSINESS: Gina Smith will be appointed to the committee at the city council meeting on
March 24, 2026.
There will be a community meeting regarding the new Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces plan on
March 25, 2026 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a valuable opportunity to provide input on the direction
and priorities of the Parks and Recreation department for the next several years. Linda requested that
committee members attend if they are able.
Veena will be absent for the next 2 meetings.
OLD BUSINESS: The Senior Program presentation to the Parks and Recreation Committee was very
well received. Seniors Working Out continues to have great attendance. The first session of Tai Chi
wrapped up successfully. The classes were very popular and attendees are looking forward to
continuing in May. There has been no progress on a new Mah Jongg group.
FUTURE TOPICS: Discussion of ideas for men’s activities, since the center has had more men
attending lately. Wayne will reach out to some of the other men to get input.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 9:46 a.m

recreational, social, and educational services. Act as advocates and advisors to the
City of SeaTac Council on issues relating to the senior population.
