Sawyer Street, Shawano, WI CALL MEETING TO ORDER WITH MOMENT OF SILENT PRAYER OR MEDITATION • Vice-President Erdman called the Police and Fire Commission meeting to order on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 3:30pm at Shawano City Hall. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL • Members Present: Tony Zielinksi (by phone), Marvin D. Erdman, Stacey Cicero, Ronald Bystol, and Dan Mauel. • Also present: Police Chief Brad Rabideau, Captain Shane Stange, and Administrative Assistant Lisa Bruette. COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW • Bruette reported the agenda was faxed or emailed to Shawano Leader, WTCH, Market Messenger, Public Library, and Premier Community Bank. It was posted at Shawano City Hall and the City's website. APPROVAL OF PROPOSED AGENDA • Motion by Cicero to approve the proposed agenda, seconded by Mauel. Motion carried by Voice Vote. APPROVAL OF THE SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MINUTES • Motion by Cicero to approve the September 19, 2023 Police & Fire Commission minutes, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. CLOSED SESSION GO INTO CLOSED SESSION UNDER WISCONSIN STATUTES SECTION 19.85(1)(c) CONSIDERING EMPLOYMENT, PROMOTION, COMPENSATION, OR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION DATA OF ANY PUBLIC EMPLOYEE UNDER THE COMMISSION'S JURISDICTION (hiring of Police Officer) • Motion by Mauel to go into Closed Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee under the Commission's jurisdiction, and invite Captain Shane Stange into the meeting, seconded by Bystol. Roll Call Vote "Ayes" Mauel, Bystol, Cicero, Erdman and Zielinski. "Nays" None. Motion carried. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION PER WISCONSIN STATUTES SECTION 19.85(2) • Motion by Mauel to return to Open Session per Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(2), seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. ACT ON ANY MATTERS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION, IF APPROPRIATE • Motion by Cicero to appoint Jacob Giannoni as a City Police Officer effective November 27, 2023, seconded by Mauel.
