Please note that Committee/Commission members do not typically engage with participants during this portion of the meeting. 8) CLOSED SESSION Go into Closed Session under Wisconsin State Statute 19.85 (1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. (Sergeant interviews) 9) OPEN SESSION Return to Open Session per Wisconsin State Statutes 19.85 (2) and take appropriate action, if required, on closed session matters. 10) FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS At this time, Committee/Commission members may request to have items placed on the next meeting's agenda for discussion and/or action. Sawyer Street, Shawano, WI CALL MEETING TO ORDER WITH MOMENT OF SILENT PRAYER OR MEDITATION • Chairperson Tony Zielinski called the Police & Fire Commission meeting to order on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Shawano City Hall. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL • Roll Call showed members present: President Tony Zielinski (virtual), Vice-President Marvin D. Erdman, Secretary Stacey Cicero, Members Ronald Bystol, and Dan Mauel. • Also present: Police Chief Mike Musolff and Captain Shane Stange. COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW • Cicero reported the agenda was faxed or emailed to Shawano Leader, WTCH, Market Messenger, Public Library, and Premier Community Bank. It was posted at Shawano City Hall and the City's website. APPROVAL OF PROPOSED AGENDA • Motion by Mauel to approved the agenda, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 6, 2025 MINUTES • Motion by Mauel to approve the March 6, 2025 Police & Fire Commission minutes, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. CLOSED SESSION GO INTO CLOSED SESSION UNDER WISCONSIN STATUTES SECTION 19.85(1)(c) CONSIDERING EMPLOYMENT, PROMOTION, COMPENSATION, OR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION DATA OF ANY PUBLIC EMPLOYEE UNDER THE COMMISSION'S JURISDICTION (Officer interview) • Motion by Mauel to go into Closed Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee under the Commission's jurisdiction, and invite Chief Musolff and Captain Stange into the meeting, seconded by Bystol. Roll Call Vote "Ayes" Mauel, Bystol, Cicero, Erdman and Zielinski. "Nays" None. Motion carried. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION PER WISCONSIN STATUTES SECTION 19.85(2) • Motion by Cicero to return to Open Session, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. ACT ON ANY MATTERS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION, IF APPROPRIATE • None. DISCUSS AND ACT ON DECERTIFYING THE CURRENT ELIGIBILITY LIST AND CREATE A NEW ELIGIBILITY LIST • Motion by Mauel to decertify current list, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. • Motion by Mauel to create a new eligibility list, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote.
