CALL TO ORDER The meeting began with introductions of City Staff and Board Members in attendance. City Staff present at this meeting include the following (those with * intend to attend Bicycle Committee meetings going forward). • Clint Metz, District Park Supervisor* • Troy Miller, Principal Traffic Engineer* • Wes Philips, Principal Engineer • Tyler Landry (online), Park Development Specialist NEW BUSINESS A. Parks Update Clint Metz presented updates and information from the Parks Department. Discussion topics included: • 2025 Parks & Recreation Project Map (to be sent in follow up email) • Interactive Parks & Trails Map (to be sent in follow up email) • Board members highlighted the need for Parks and Public Works to collaborate on project and construction information. • Detour for Western and 57th o Clint confirmed there is no detour for phase 1. o Process was summarized: A detour option was brought before the Bike Committee who determined that there was no safe detour option. Therefore, Parks opted to move forward without a detour in this case. There is a financial incentive for the contractor to complete the project early. • Signage for detours o Clint stated that physical signage is part of the bid process with the contractor. There is not a policy for distance and location of physical detour signs. o The group discussed online detour notifications and efficiency of directing people to the interactive map for detour and closure information. o Clint also discussed the use of social media and press releases as notification methods. • Xcel project o The project is now complete. o City staff discussed the process for communicating with Xcel – when an issue is brought to staff’s attention, staff reaches out to project management who then reaches out those on the ground. o The City has requested that different panels be used for future projects. o The damaged portions of the trail will be repaired. Currently there is no timeline, but discussions with Xcel have begun. • Dunham Park detour o Clint and Fletcher discussed concerns with using the parking lot as the detour. The proposed detour will go through internal park trials. • Crack seal/seal coat process and alternatives B. Bike Week Recap The group discussed the Bike Expo hosted by FAB ADJOURN
