Education Campaign Topics Discussion Lacock presented on the on-agenda item and background information, noting that the topic of active transportation education has been raised multiple times by various committees and boards. Lacock mentioned that this is a time for the bicycle committee to discuss some ideas for education and what mode of campaigning the city should focus on. The committee discussed the topics that were provided by the city. DePrenger, city staff member, shared the resources that are already accessible on the city's website and the examples that have been done in the past such as brochures, bike safety video, and interactive maps. Lacock asked if there was anyone from the committee that would volunteer to help out, Chad Pickard volunteered. The committee discussed potential strategies for outreach and education, including the idea of hosting pop-up events along the trail. These events could serve as a direct way to engage with trail users and educate. It was also suggested that local non-profits, such as the Falls Area Bicyclists, and bike shops might participate in these events. However, the need for permits was noted as a consideration. Further discussion followed. E bikes were also a topic that was discussed and their legality on sidewalks and trails. Committee members discussed the importance of education over the different classes of E-bikes and their safety while using the sidewalks or trails. Members were concerned about the safety of others that use the sidewalks or trails as E-bikes are getting faster. Pickard suggested that education should be targeted towards children and bring back bike safety days. ADJOURN
