A. FAB Bike Audit
Staff:
John Scarbrough mentioned that he was a part of the group who did the bike audit
with Falls Area Bicyclist, he said that the 15th Street Bike Corridor needed some
improvement. Staff indicated that there are more improvements on the 15th Street
Bike Boulevard still to come this Fall including bump-outs and RRFB’s at 15th Street
and Grange Avenue, a traffic circle at 15th Street and Prairie Avenue, and segments of
road resurfacing. Scarbrough mentioned that Rodger with FAB should be sending over
the audit to City Staff.
B. Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update
Staff: Fletcher Lacock
Present: Board Chair Fletcher Lacock
Lacock went over the slides for the Metropolitan Transportation Plan. He informed
the committee that they are currently looking for some public engagement and
encouraged members to attend a pop-up event. There was discussion within the
committee about advocating more for the importance of bicycling being included in
the plan.
C. Parks Master Plan update
Staff: Fletcher Lacock
Lacock went over the update of the Parks Master Plan, which is also in a public input
phase. He went over the website where people can submit input online and
mentioned to the committee members to keep an eye out for more engagement
opportunities.
One of the committee members asked about the smaller signs on some bike signage
that depict a number and what the number meant. Troy Miller from the City’s
Engineering Department said that those numbers were certain routes around town
the designated the street as a safe road to commute on a bike. The committee looked
at a map showing all the routes. The committee agreed that there should be more
advertising of the maps so people know more about what the numbers mean and can
use them to get around the city safely.
