MINUTES Tuesday, August 20, 2013 CIP - Budget Hearings 3:00 PM Sioux Falls City Council Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Sue Aguilar, Council Member Kenny Anderson Jr., Council Member Michelle Erpenbach, Council Member Greg Jamison, Council Member Dean Karsky, Council Member Rex Rolfing Members Absent: Council Member James Entenman, Council Member Kermit L. Staggers and Mayor Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Denise D. Tucker, CMC, Assistant City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; and Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager CALL TO ORDER Council Vice Chair Dean Karsky called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. He briefly discussed the Solberg Avenue Overpass ribbon cutting. BUDGET HEARINGS A. Community Development Darrin Smith, Director of Community Development/Public Parking, provided a brief introduction of how his staff would give their budget presentations. Al Roettger, Program Specialist, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget for the Community Development Affordable Housing Department. Brent O'Neil, Economic Development Manager, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget for the Economic Development Department. B. Public Parking Matt Nelson, Public Parking Facilities Manager, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget for Public Parking. Discussion followed regarding Community Development and Public Parking. C. Health Jill Franken, Director of Public Health, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget for the Public Health Department. Discussion followed. D. Library Mary Johns, Director of Libraries, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget for the Siouxland Libraries. Discussion followed. E. Fire Rescue Jim Sideras, Fire Chief, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget for Sioux Falls Fire Rescue. Discussion followed. F. Entertainment Tax (If time allows) Tracy Turbak, Director of Finance, gave an overview of the 2014 Budget regarding the Entertainment Tax Fund. Discussion followed.
