MINUTES Wednesday, July 5, 2017 Fiscal Committee 5 PM Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Rex Rolfing, Michelle Erpenbach, Pat Starr Members Absent: Christine M. Erickson 1. Call To Order Committee Chair Michelle Erpenbach called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes A. Meeting of Tuesday, April 4, 2017 A motion was made by Rex Rolfing and seconded by Pat Starr to approve the minutes of Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Committee Chair Michelle Erpenbach called for a voice vote. All members voted yes. Motion Passed. 3. Reports and Updates A. Proposed 2018 City Council Budget by Dave Bixler, Budget Analyst; Kim Schroeder, Internal Audit Manager; and, Tom Greco, City Clerk Presentation: Approximately 10 minutes followed by discussion Dave Bixler, Budget Analyst; Kim Schroeder, Internal Audit Manager; and Tom Greco, City Clerk, provided a presentation of the City Council, Internal Audit, and City Clerk proposed budgets for 2018. The presentations included a comparison between 2017 and 2018 with detailed information about: wages & benefits, professional services, supplies and materials, training, rentals, and utilities. The proposed City Council budget is $601,236; the proposed Internal Audit budget is $374,186; and the proposed City Clerk budget is $601,034. The City Clerk budget includes expenses related to the 2018 municipal election. Discussion about training, conduct of the election, and next steps in the budget process followed. 4.
