Informational Meeting

MINUTES Monday, February 1, 2010 Informational Meeting 4:00 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, J. Pat Costello, Greg Jamison, Bob Litz, and Kermit Staggers. Members Absent: Gerald Beninga, De Knudson, and Mayor Dave Munson. Staff Present: Denise D. Tucker, Assistant City Clerk. 1. Call To Order Council Chair J. Pat Costello called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Staff Report A. Updates by Debra A. Owen, City Clerk 3. Mayor Munson No report. 4. Audit Committee No report. 5. Fiscal Committee Costello said there would be a Fiscal Committee Meeting following the Informational Meeting. 6. Land Use Committee No report. 7. Public Services Committee Brown said the Public Services Committee will have a meeting next week. He said he would be asking for a two week deferral for the vehicles for hire ordinance on tonight’s City Council meeting, to allow for user input. Brown said they would discuss the ordinance at the Public Services Committee Meeting. 8. City Council Open Discussion Litz stated that he will be attending the Municipal League meeting. He said after the meetings, he would be attending the annual Home Builders/Realtors Chili Feed. Anderson gave an update on the affordable housing project. He said a company has been selected and a contract has been signed. Anderson said they are working on a date to present information to the Mayor and City Council. Discussion followed. 9. Presentations  There were no presentations. 10. Executive Session A. Personnel Matter A motion to go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter was made at 4:04 p.m. by Council Member Litz and seconded by Council Member Anderson Jr. A voice vote was taken and all members present voted yes. Motion Passed. Councilor Beninga arrived at the meeting at this time. A personnel matter was discussed at this time. A motion to go out of Executive Session was made at 4:45 p.m. by Council Member Jamison and seconded by Council Member Beninga. A voice vote was taken and all members present voted yes. Motion Passed. 11. Adjournment A motion was made by Jamison and seconded by Beninga to adjourn the meeting at 4:45 p.m. A voice vote was taken and all members present voted yes. Motion Passed.
