MINUTES Monday, February 28, 2011 Informational Meeting 4:00 PM at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West Tenth Street Members Present: Sue Aguilar, Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, James Entenman, Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison, Bob Litz, and Rex Rolfing Members Absent: Mayor Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, CMC, Assistant City Clerk 1. Call To Order Council Chair Greg Jamison called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Staff Report A. Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations No Report. 3. City Council Open Discussion Fiscal Meeting Update: Council Member Vernon Brown stated that the Fiscal Committee met on February 28, 2011 and discussed contracts. Afterwards, the Fiscal Committee met at the Health Department to review vendor information for accounting software changes. Jamison stated that citizens in the Whittier neighborhood were working together to assist a fellow neighbor who recently experienced a house fire. Discussion followed regarding assistance from the city in waiving fees at the landfill. Jamison expressed a "Happy Birthday" to Cannon Tucker, who is the father to Assistant City Clerk Denise Tucker. Jamison stated that this will be the last Informational Meeting for Council Member Bob Litz as he will assume his duties as the Minnehaha County Auditor next week. The Council Members wished him well and Bob had some closing remarks. 4. Presentations  A. Presentation of two Internal Audit Reports: 10-12 American Recovery & Reinvestment Act and 10-13 Citywide Disbursements by Rich Oksol, Lead Internal Auditor B. Code Enforcement Update by Kevin Smith, Assistant Director of Planning and Building Services C. Update on National League of Cities Conference by Councilors Sue Aguilar, Michelle Erpenbach and Kenny Anderson Jr. 5.
