MINUTES Monday, April 4, 2011 Informational Meeting 4:00 PM at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West Tenth Street Members Present: Sue Aguilar, Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, James Entenman, Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison, Rex Rolfing Members Absent: Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations and Tamara Jorgensen, CMC, Assistant City Clerk 1. Call To Order Council Chair Jamison called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Staff Report A. Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations Owen reviewed the procedures for the nomination and appointment process for the City Council Member for the Northwest District. The Swearing In Ceremony procedures were also reviewed. 3. Land Use Committee A. Report from meeting on Monday, March 28, 2011 Erpenbach gave an update on the Land Use Committee Meeting minutes. 4. City Council Open Discussion Jamison stated that an email was received earlier today from Director of Finance Tracy Turback requesting that the Events Center update scheduled for April 18, 2011, be removed from the Informational schedules. Jamison asked when a final update on the Events Center would be provided to the City Council. He also reminded the Administration that the City Council Members have working schedules and asked that they work with the Council Members as much as possible so that all could attend the future update meeting. Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, responded with additional information regarding the timelines. Discussion followed.  Jamison reminded the City Council of the Forum tomorrow night at the Orpheum Theater to discuss the Events Center. 5. Presentations A. Rail Yard Relocation Project Update by Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works; and Joshua Peterson, Principal Engineer B. Rate Model Update for Water Reclamation - Midyear Rate Increase by Steve Burian, President of AE2 Engineering; Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works; and Trent Lubbers, Wastewater Superintendent 6.
