MINUTES Tuesday, July 28, 2015 Informational Meeting 4 PM at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West Tenth Street Members Present: Christine M. Erickson, Greg Jamison, Dean Karsky, Rick Kiley, Rex Rolfing, and Kermit L. Staggers Members Absent: Kenny Anderson Jr., Michelle Erpenbach and Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, MMC, Assistant City Clerk; and Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager 1. Call To Order Council Vice Chair Rex Rolfing called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. City Council Open Discussion Council Member Rick Kiley spoke regarding micro reflective backgrounds around signals and signs in the City of Sioux Falls. Council Member Dean Karsky spoke regarding a new retailer coming to town, The Duluth Trading Company. He stated an article in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader noted the city's Fascade Easement Program. Kiley stated he attended the press conference today on the Washington Square Project. He stated the resulting TIF announcement was a prime example of good results coming from open communication. 3. Presentations A. Indoor Aquatics Center Project Update by the Administration Don Kearney, Director of Parks and Recreation, reviewed the following PowerPoint Slides: Project Goals; Construction Progress Report; What to Expect on Site This Summer/Fall; Live Construction Webcam; and Title Sponsorship Agreement. Tory Miedema, Park Development Specialist, reviewed the following PowerPoint Slide: Building It Right The First Time: Due Diligence. Tracy Turbak, Director of Finance, reviewed the following PowerPoint Slides: Financial Summary - as of June 30, 2015; Outdoor Splash Pad Cost:  $365,500; and Project Timeline.
