MINUTES Tuesday, May 8, 2018 Informational City Council 4 PM Meeting Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Sioux Falls City Council Members Present: Christine M. Erickson, Michelle Erpenbach, Rick Kiley, Greg Neitzert, Rex Rolfing, Marshall Selberg, Pat Starr, and Theresa Stehly Members Absent: Mike T. Huether 1. Call To Order Council Chair Rick Kiley called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. City Council Open Discussion Council Member Marshall Selberg stated that the Land Use Committee Meeting for next week is canceled. Council Member Rex Rolfing provided an update on the Transportation Coordination Committee, a subcommittee of the Urbanized Development Commission. Kiley stated there is a reception at 6 p.m. this evening to honor Council Members Michelle Erpenbach and Rex Rolfing for their eight years of service to the City of Sioux Falls. 3. Presentations A. Carnegie Broadcast and Presentation Equipment Replacement by Brett Mathison, Multimedia Manager Presentation: Approximately 15 Minutes followed by discussion. Mathison spoke regarding the end of life replacement for some of the equipment put in place in 2012. Equipment that is being replaced includes wiring, cables, a change out rack, an audio mixer, upgrading the power system, replacing the Creston unit and upgrading the video switchers. The proposed changes were added to the Capital Plan in 2015 for equipment replacement and upgrades. Equipment not being replaced includes the projector, the wall monitors, and projection screen. Discussion followed about: the definition of “sound reinforcement”; technology wearing out in time; the average lifecycle for most equipment, the length of time  necessary to get the equipment repaired; the physical location of vendors; video streaming work sessions in the Multi-Purpose Room; access to streaming through various devices; analytical data numbers; and the open bid process resulting in one bid. 4.
