MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Sarah Cole, Alex Jensen (arr. 4:01 p.m.), Rich Merkouris, Marshall Selberg, Curt Soehl, Pat Starr Council Members Absent: Greg Neitzert Council Member Marshall Selberg called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Accessible Housing Advisory Board: Wednesday, December 6, 2023 (Council Member Selberg) Selberg spoke on highlights from the Accessible Housing Advisory Board meeting. B. Siouxland Heritage Museum Board: Thursday, December 7, 2023 (Council Member Starr) Council Member Pat Starr gave the report for the December Siouxland Heritage Museum Board meeting. C. Experience Sioux Falls - BID Board: Tuesday, December 12, 2023 (Council Member Cole) Council Member Sarah Cole gave updates from the Experience Sioux Falls BID Board meeting. 3. Councilor Remarks Council Member Rich Merkouris spoke on the draft resolution of the Council's legislative priorities, feedback from the other Council members, and that the resolution will be coming forward to the December 19th Council meeting. 4. Presentations A. Economic Development Partners by Lynne Keller, Executive Director, South East Council of Governments; Joe Batcheller, Executive Director, Downtown Sioux Falls;  Mike Lynch, Program Director for Forward Sioux Falls; and Bob Mundt, President, Sioux Falls Development Foundation Presentation: Approximately 30 minutes followed by discussion There was an informational presentation from Lynne Keller, Executive Director, South East Council of Governments; Joe Batcheller, Executive Director, Downtown Sioux Falls; Mike Lynch, Program Director for Forward Sioux Falls; and Bob Mundt, President, Sioux Falls Development Foundation (presentations attached). Following each organization's presentation, there was some discussion and questions from the Council were answered by each presenter. 5. Public Comment Sierra Broussard spoke about housing, costs, and SECOG. 6. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 5:32 p.m. Jermery J. Washington, City Clerk
