MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Sarah Cole, Rich Merkouris, Greg Neitzert (arr. at 4:47 p.m.), Marshall Selberg, Curt Soehl, Pat Starr Council Members Absent: Alex Jensen Council Chair Marshall Selberg called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Siouxland Heritage Museum Board: Thursday, February 1, 2024 (Council Member Starr) Council Member Pat Starr provided the report and mentioned that there has been a moth infestation at the Irene Hall Resource Center; and some of the clothing and taxidermy animals have been effected. 3. Councilor Remarks There were none. 4. Presentations A. Events Center Complex Year in Review by Mike Krewson, ASM Global General Manager Presentation: Approximately 15 minutes followed by discussion Mike Krewson, ASM Global General Manager, provided the year in review. He spoke about the record profits, attendance, concerts, upcoming events, trends, new events, turning away business, and mentioned that there will be a 10th Anniversary concert. Following the presentation there was some discussion and questions from the Council, which were answered by Krewson. B. Washington Pavilion Year in Review by Darrin Smith, Washington Pavilion Management Inc., President & CEO Presentation: Approximately 15 minutes followed by discussion  Darrin Smith, Washington Pavilion Management Inc. President & CEO, provided the year in review. Among the things he discussed were the café renovation, all day/everyday preschool, the addition of the ice cream parlor, their new events website, new retail store, space being filled up at the Orpheum Theatre building, the cornice and parapet project, the upcoming 25th Anniversary celebration, the H2O play room, the Sweetman Planetarium, and setting new records with recent Broadway performances. Following the presentation there was some discussion and questions from the Council, which were answered by Smith. 5. Public Comment There was none. 6. Executive Session A. Consulting with legal counsel or reviewing communications from legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters pursuant to SDCL 1-25- 2(3) A motion was made by Council Vice-Chair Merkouris and seconded by Council Member Soehl to enter Executive Session at 4:47 p.m. for the purpose of Consulting with legal counsel or reviewing communications from legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters pursuant to SDCL 1-25- 2(3). Roll call vote to enter Executive Session. 7 Yes: Barranco, Cole, Merkouris, Neitzert, Selberg, Soehl, Starr; 0 No: (None). Motion Passed. 7.
