MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Sarah Cole (arr. 4:02 p.m.), Rich Merkouris, Greg Neitzert, Marshall Selberg, Curt Soehl, Pat Starr Council Members Absent: Alex Jensen Council Chair Marshall Selberg called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Accessible Housing Advisory Board: Wednesday, March 6, 2024 (Council Member Selberg) Selberg gave the report from the March 6, 2024 Accessible Housing Advisory Board Meeting. B. Urbanized Development Commission (UDC): Thursday, March 14, 2024 (Council Members: Barranco, Merkouris, Neitzert, Starr) Council Member David Barranco gave the report from the March 14, 2024 Urbanized Development Commission Meeting. C. Siouxland Heritage Museum Board: Thursday, March 14, 2024 (Council Member Starr) There was nothing to report. D. Metro Management Council: Tuesday, March 26, 2024 (Council Members Cole and Soehl) Council Member Curt Soehl gave the report from the March 26, 2024 Metro Management Council Meeting. 3. Councilor Remarks Council Member Greg Neitzert spoke about Sioux Falls hosting NCAA Hockey Division I Regional games.  Soehl commented on the Sports Authority Board meeting and shared some statistics regarding the hockey games. He mentioned that the games will return to Sioux Falls in 2026. 4. Presentations A. Property Tax Reduction Programs by Dustin Powers, Business Development Coordinator Presentation: Approximately 10 minutes followed by discussion Dustin Powers, Business Development Coordinator, gave a presentation on Property Tax Reduction Programs (presentation attached). There was some discussion and questions from the Council which were answered by Powers. 5. Public Comment There was none. 6. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 4:37 p.m. Jermery J.
