MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Rich Merkouris, Jennifer Sigette, Curt Soehl, Ryan Spellerberg, Richard L. Thomason Council Members Absent: Miranda Basye, Sarah Cole Council Chair Curt Soehl called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Experience Sioux Falls - BID Board: Tuesday, December 10, 2024 (Council Member Thomason) Thomason provided an update stating the investments were reviewed and were very good and had gone up and had good year end results. B. South Eastern Council of Governments (SECOG): Wednesday, December 11, 2024 (Council Members Basye and Sigette) Sigette stated the quarterly meeting included an end of year update. Sigette shared the financial updates and the workforce updates. It was a successful year for SECOG. C. South Dakota Municipal League Board of Directors: Wednesday, December 11, 2024 (Council Member Barranco) Barranco provided an update on the committment and involvment required to serve at these meetings. He reviewed the recent passings of legislative priorities that required teamwork and cooperative relationships between the state entities. 3. Councilor Remarks Soehl stated that he has recently met with a 3rd Grade class about how City government works. He stated they were very interested in the topics of feral cats and zoo animals. He expressed appreciation to the teachers, especially for those in the elementary schools, for sharing their gifts with so many others.  Sigette stated she did a ride along with a street sweeper and a sand truck. She expressed appreciation to the Public Works personnel who are busy preparing for the winter season. 4. Presentations A. November 2024 Monthly Financial Statements by Shawn Pritchett, Director of Finance Presentation: Approximately 10 minutes followed by discussion Pritchett gave an update on the November, 2024, Monthly Financial Statements. He indicated the next Financial Updates would occur in April, 2025. Following the presentation, there was some discussion and the questions asked by the Council were answered by Pritchett. 5.
