METRO MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE BOARD AGENDA Metro Management Executive Board Meeting Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 3:00 PM Commission Room, 1st Floor City Hall, 224 West Ninth Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. CALL TO ORDER Present: Board Member Sarah Cole, Board Member Dean Karsky, Board Chair Gerald Beninga, Board Member John Thum, Board Member Matt McAreavey Absent: Board Member Curt Soehl, Board Member Mike Milstead Meeting called to order at 3 p.m. by Board Chair Gerald Beninga. 2. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES A. Metro Management Executive Board Meeting of Tuesday, September 10, 2024 Board Member Dean Karsky made the motion to approve the Metro Management Meeting Minutes of September 10, 2024. Board Member Thum seconded the motion. Voice vote to approve: 5 Yes: Beninga, Cole, Karsky, Thum, McAreavey 0 No: (None). Motion Passed. 3. QUARTERLY FINANCIAL UPDATE Sam Stanforth, Business Analyst, gave the quarterly financial update. There was some discussion after the quarterly report. 4. MANAGER'S REPORT Aimee Chase, Metro Administrator, gave the Metro Manager's report and spoke on staffing levels and the upcoming hiring of more employees. 5. 2025 MEETINGS SCHEDULING Mike Gramlick, Metro Manager, commented that staff will be sending out some proposed 2025 meeting dates for the Metro Management Executive Board. 6. PUBLIC INPUT  There was none. 7. EXECUTIVE SESSION (IF NEEDED) A. CONSULTING WITH LEGAL COUNSEL OR REVIEWING COMMUNICATIONS FROM LEGAL COUNSEL ABOUT PROPOSED OR PENDING LITIGATION OR CONTRACTUAL MATTERS PURSUANT TO SDCL 1-23-2(3) B. DISCUSSING THE QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCE, PEFORMANCE, CHARACTER OR FITNESS OF ANY PUBLIC OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE OR PROSEPECTIVE PUBLIC OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE. THE TERM “EMPLOYEE” DOES N OT INCLUDE ANY INDEPDENT CONTRACTOR PURSUANT TO SDCL 1-25-2(1) Board Member Dean Karsky made the motion to enter Executive Session for the purpose of consulting with legal counsel or reviewing communications from legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(3) and for the purpose of discussing the qualifications, competence, performance, character of fitness of any public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee. The term "employee" does not include any independent contractor pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(1). Board Member McAreavey seconded the motion. Voice vote to enter Executive Session at 3:18 p.m.: 5 Yes: Beninga, Cole, Karsky, Thum, McAreavey 0 No: (None). Motion Passed. The Board exited out of Executive Session at 3:31 p.m. 8. ADJOURNMENT Board Member Dean Karsky made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 3:32 p.m. Board Member McAreavey seconded the motion.
