MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Miranda Basye, Sarah Cole, Rich Merkouris, Jennifer Sigette, Curt Soehl, Ryan Spellerberg, Richard L. Thomason Council Members Absent: None The meeting was called to order at 4 p.m. by Council Chair Rich Merkouris. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. South Eastern Council of Governments (SECOG): Wednesday, September 3, 2025 (Council Members Basye and Sigette) Councilors Jennifer Sigette and Sarah Cole will provide an update next month. B. Siouxland Heritage Museum Board: Thursday, September 4, 2025 (Council Member Soehl) Councilor Curt Soehl stated there would be visits to the schools and that construction on the roof is proceeding nicely. 3. Councilor Remarks There were none. 4. Presentations A. Forestry Services Update by Josh Johnson, Park Operations Manager; Bryan Peterson, Urban Forestry Specialist; Matt Hart, Park Forestry Supervisor; and Brett Kollars, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. Presentation: Approximately 15 minutes followed by discussion Josh Johnson, Park Operations Manager, gave a presentation on the forestry services updates (presentation attached to the agenda). Following the presentation, questions asked by the Council were answered by Johnson, Brett Kollars, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, and Bryan Peterson, Urban Forestry Specialist. 5.
