MINUTES Monday, March 14, 2011 Public Services Committee * 4:30 PM Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Members Absent: Staff Present: Guests: 1. Call To Order Council Chair Anderson Jr. called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m. 2. Review and approval of Minutes dated February 14, 2011 A motion was made by Council Member Sue Aguilar and seconded by Council Member Michelle Erpenbach to approve the minutes of February 14, 2011. Vote to approve: Roll Call: Yeses, Sue Aguilar, Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, Michelle Erpenbach, 4. Noes, 0. Motion Passed. 3. Executive Orders Erpenbach gave an overview of the committee work and timeline involved for reviewing the ordinances and the Executive Orders. motion made by erpenbach ordiannce revisions ahead to the council as they are seconded by aguilar. Owen gave an overview of the proposed changes to the existing ordinances. The proposed amendments will occur to section 2-35, Powers of the Mayor, and section 2-37, Administrative organization of city departments subject to the Mayor. A motion was made by Council Member Michelle Erpenbach and seconded by Council Member Sue Aguilar to approve the proposed ordinance revisions move forward for City Council review and approval.. Vote to approve: Roll Call: Yeses, Sue Aguilar, Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, Michelle Erpenbach, 4. Noes, 0. Motion Passed. 4. Pawn Shop Ordinance After opening remarks by Police Chief Doug Barthel, Captain Greg VanDeKamp gave a power point presentation on the proposed revisions. Discussion followed. Dean Nasser, Attorney, gave input and feedback regarding the proposed ordinance revisions. Discussion followed. This item will be on the Public Services Committee Meeting agenda scheduled for Monday, April 11, 2011, for additional review and discussion. 5. Council Procedures and Organization Owen reviewed the revisions to Chapter 2, Article II, of the City Council Organization and Procedures. Due to time constraints, this item will be continued at the Public Services Committee Meeting scheduled for Monday, April 11, 2011. 6. Open Discussion There was none. 7. Adjournment A motion was made by Council Member Vernon Brown and seconded by Council Member Sue Aguilar to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m..
