MINUTES Tuesday, May 12, 2015 Public Services Committee 5:05 PM Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Christine M. Erickson, Council Member Michelle Erpenbach, Council Member Rick Kiley, and Council Member Kermit L. Staggers Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, MMC, Assistant City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; and Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager 1. Call To Order Committee Chair Christine M. Erickson called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. 2. Review and approval of minutes dated April 14, 2015 A motion was made by Michelle Erpenbach and seconded by Rick Kiley to approve the minutes. A voice vote was taken. All members present voted yes. Motion Passed. 3. Proposed Plumbing Rebate Changes by Jessica Lantgen, Sustainability Coordinator and Darin Freese, Water Program Coordinator Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, provided opening remarks regarding the responsibilities of the new Water Program Coordinator position. Cotter then introduced Darin Freese, Water Program Coordinator. Freese provided an update on the following topics and reviewed the following PowerPoint Presentation slides: 12 Years of Water Conservation; Water Rebate Program 2003-2014; Washing Machine Rebate 12 Years Later; Original Intent of Program; Program Yesterday vs. Today; Regional Plumbing Rebate Programs; Utility Rates; Washer and Toilet Rebate Savings; and Proposed Ordinance Changes.
