CALL TO ORDER II. FLAG SALUTE III. RECITAL OF LANDS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT IV. ROLL CALL Christianson left the meeting at 7:15pm. Present: 5 - Christianson, Ystad, Pike, Carlson, and Saline Absent: 2 - Mosher, and Eisenbeisz V. CORRESPONDENCE/AGENDA CHANGES None. VI. PERSONS TO BE HEARD None. VII. NEW BUSINESS: A 24-016 Preliminary Discussion / Direction for the FY2025 Municipal Budget with focus on the General Fund and Internal Service Funds (Assembly action may be taken) Municipal Administrator John Leach summarized the internal budget process to date. Finance Director Melissa Haley said the goal of the meeting was to get feedback on CITY AND BOROUGH OF SITKA Page 1 City and Borough Assembly Minutes - Final February 8, 2024 what the Assembly wanted to see included in the Administrator's draft FY2025 General Fund budget. Haley reviewed highlights from the 2023 and 2024 new General Fund initiatives; FY2025 budget process; reviewed FY2025 requests and impacts; mentioned FTE requests begin to address needs that current staffing can't keep up with; and noted current challenges. Assembly consensus was to move forward with preparation of the Administrator's draft General Fund budget based on information presented. B 24-017 Discussion / Direction of the FY2025 Municipal Budget, if needed, as it relates to the General Fund and other Funds (Assembly action may be taken) The Assembly discussed the possibility of using commercial passenger vessel excise tax money to pay for some FY2025 budget requests, impacts of tourism, and job position requests. VIII. PERSONS TO BE HEARD: None. IX. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Ystad to ADJOURN. Hearing no objections, the meeting ADJOURNED at 7:35pm.
