City of Slidell, Louisiana Planning Commission Minutes April 19, 2021 @ 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers, 2045 2nd Street, Slidell, LA 1. Call to Order and Roll Call. Meeting called to order by Lance Grant at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners Present Commissioners Not Present Staff Present Lance Grant Mary Lou Hilts, Chairperson Melissa Guilbeau, Planning Director Gayle Green Richard Reardon, Vice Chair Landon Washington Michael Newton Tim Rogers 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Minutes. Motion by Mr. Washington to approve minutes of March 15, 2021 as written; Mr. Newton seconded. A vote of 5 YAYS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN approved the minutes. 4. Public Hearing a. V21-02: A request for a design exception (Sec. 3.6 of Appendix B of the City’s Code of Ordinances) for a proposed carwash at 2170 Gause Blvd. E, Slidell, LA Mr. Grant opened the public hearing. Jordan Williams, the applicant, summarized the request to use ACM paneling. He stated that it doesn’t crack or mildew, and that it is a major upgrade that will cost approximately $176,000 more than stucco. Mr. Grant closed the public hearing. Mr. Washington made a motion to approve the design exception that was seconded by Mr. Rogers and passed by vote of 5 YAYS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN. 5. Other Business. There was none. 6. General and Public Comments a. Update on Comprehensive Plan. Director Guilbeau stated that the consultant continues to work on compiling data and information on existing conditions. She stated that the comprehensive plan website is almost ready for review and that the Steering Committee will meet on Thursday, 4/22. 7. Adjournment.
