City of Slidell, Louisiana Planning Commission Minutes March 15, 2021 @ 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers, 2045 2nd Street, Slidell, LA 1. Call to Order and Roll Call. Meeting called to order by Chairperson Hilts at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners Present Commissioners Not Present Staff Present Mary Lou Hilts, Chairperson Joseph Binder Melissa Guilbeau, Director Richard Reardon, Vice Chair Michael Newton Theresa Alexander, Planner Landon Washington Tim Rogers Gayle Green 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Minutes. Chairperson Hilts introduced the February 22, 2021 meeting minutes and asked for questions or comments. Mr. Reardon made a motion to approve the minutes as written which Mr. Washington seconded. Motion passed by a vote of 4 YEAS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN. 4. Public Hearing. a. S21-01: A request to subdivide property located on Front St between E Hall Ave and Florida Ave; identified as Lots 5-A, 6, 7, 8, 9-A, 21, 22, 23, and to revoke a portion of 4th St, Sq 1, Brugier Addition; into one lot. Chairperson Hilts introduced the request and opened the public hearing. Mr. Tommy Buckel and Mr. Will Krisp of Duplantis Design Group stated they have been coordinating with staff and were available for questions. Mr. Washington inquired as to the proposed use. Mr. Buckel presented details of the proposed car wash. - Chairperson Hilts closed the public hearing. Director Guilbeau stated that Staff recommends approval of the subdivision. Mr. Reardon made a motion to approve the subdivision that was seconded by Ms. Green and passed by vote of 3 YAYS, 1 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN. 5. Other Business. There was none. 6. General and Public Comments a. Update on the Comprehensive Plan. Director Guilbeau reported that the Steering Committee and Team Slidell Technical Committee have met. Mr. Washington attended the Steering Committee meeting and commented favorably on the proceedings. 7. Adjournment.
